Testing for you new belt levels was outstanding.
Sigung and Siti were very impressed with the quality of students we are developing here in our humble studio.
Siti commented how good the girls and women in our school are looking. Strong and confident.
Sigung was impressed with the ground work we are following up with after the initial techniques are excuted. And he said he got chills up the spine when Kevin and Kainoa were going at it....that was cool!!
We all want to congradulate Moranda and Gabriela for being awarded their Briones Kajukenbo Jackets. They both deserved them after all the hard work they put in this last year.
Sigung and Siti also mentioned River and April's horse stances; along with the power that the two Cabus boys, Kainoa and Kiekilani showed in their bo form. He was also honored that Samantha performed the Kama set, which he used to perform when competeing. This is the same form that brought Sigung a World Championship. Sigung also got a kick out of talkiing to Caitlin Jackson. He had mentioned that Caitlin has a lot of potential and he sees a future champion.
I would like to say that Harry and Mateen did an outstanding job along with Natalia and Moranda.
Remember everyone, not all of you will make it to black belt. It's not an easy goal to meet in your life. Sometimes obsticles will get in your way, distractions and deversions that happen when you get to be a teenager will make is difficult to attain your black belt. Heck, just look next to you and ask yourself if all the people you started with are still here training. The answer is proabably a resounding, "NO!". All I'm trying to say is, don't be the person who get distracted and falls to the way side. Be the one who sticks with the hard work of getting your black belt.
I can tell you from personnel experience, "It will be the greatest thing you ever do in your LIFE!".
Again, congradulations to everyone and I be seeing you in class.
Remember, "To Train Strong Is To Remain Strong!!"

9/17/2006 | Wow, Sifu, I'm just reading this for the first time. What a nice letter, especially the mention of River. It's always so exciting to hear compliments from you and Sigung and Siti. And I'm so glad we discovered your school (through Lori of course). I was just telling Gary last night that the groundwork is one of the biggest reasons why I have so much confidence that this martial art would serve me well if a situation ever required it. Thank you Sifu. |
